International Women's Day is celebrated on 8th March
Dear reader,
As International Women's Day approaches, it is important to remember the history of this holiday. Giving flowers to women on this day carries with it great symbolism that you should not miss.
The history of International Women's Day
International Women's Day is celebrated annually on 8th March and is a global day that celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. This day is also a call to action for gender equality and women's rights.
The history of International Women's Day dates back to the early 20th century. In 1908, women marched in New York City for better working conditions, higher wages and the right to vote. This demonstration inspired women in other countries and in 1910 the International Socialist Women's Conference in Copenhagen proposed the idea of International Women's Day. The proposal was accepted and the first International Women's Day was celebrated in 1911 in Austria-Hungary, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland.
In the following years, International Women's Day became a significant day for women's rights and a symbol of women's solidarity. During the First World War, women in Russia commemorated International Women's Day on the last Sunday in February (according to the Julian calendar), which corresponds exactly to 8th March of the Gregorian calendar.
International Women's Day has been celebrated in various ways over the years, including rallies, marches and demonstrations. In recent years, the day has become the focus of publicity and action in support of gender equality and women's rights, and is recognised as an official holiday in some countries.
Since 1975, the holiday has been officially recognized by the United Nations and is commemorated as a day of international solidarity of women for equality, justice, peace and development.

Roses - Roses are a symbol of love and passion and can be appropriate for partner relationships.
